Redactie & Co is looking for a strong Magazine Manager with consummate editorial skills, on behalf of an international media company. The company publishes titles that focus on expats and their partners.
Job description 
The Magazine Manager is responsible for a quarterly magazine. The readership comprises of 80 nationalities, living in 120 countries. Print and online versions of the magazine appear in English and Dutch, and in various company-specific editions. The Magazine Manager uses a workflow system to manage the production of the magazine and is responsible for the full, complex logistics process, as well as directing journalists, translators, copy editors, designers and printers. Much of the work is done at a distance as many of the magazine’s contributors are based abroad. The Magazine Manager reports to the Publisher/Managing Director and will also be responsible for starting up new editions (e-reader, customized and/or new language editions).
Required 
Suitable candidates will have a university or higher professional education (HBO) degree in journalism or communications, previous management experience as a Magazine Manager and speak both English and Dutch fluently. The candidate must have demonstrable experience in finding and managing international suppliers and freelancers, as wells as experience as an expat (or expat partner), preferably in several countries. He or she will have well-developed commercial instincts and an enterprising spirit, be hands-on, flexible, customer and market-oriented, and does not have a 9 to 5 attitude. The ideal candidate will have experience in consumer media, video and digital publications, be used to working in a stressful environment and willing to travel on occasion.

This is a full-time position in an ambitious yet informal organisation that places the emphasis on quality. Depending on performance, there is the potential for the successful candidate to be promoted to the position of Operations Manager, in charge of all print and online publications.
