On behalf of a publishing company with a main focus on the medical and health care market, Redactie & Co is looking for a coordinating editor. The company is a fast growing B2B publisher with around 300 employees. Their main focus is the medical and health care market, but they also tend to the areas of medium- and small scale business, communication, logistics and sports. Product development and sales & marketing are their main priority.
Job description
The coordinating editor will join a dynamic new team that is focused on developing clinically oriented publications for the international pharmaceutical industry. He or she will be involved in the creation and development of both print and electronic products, such as medical encyclopedias and dictionaries. Though based in the Houten office the majority of contact will be with worldwide affiliates and partners, international key opinion leaders and other stake holders. The coordinating editor is expected to be the primary contact for all new projects. He or she will work with authors, publishers and editors around the world, so some traveling must be expected when a face to face meeting will further an important relationship.
Required
Strong editorial and project management skills are essential, ideally with experience of a scientific or medical publishing. Some experience of commissioning is preferred. The editor we’re looking for is an excellent and confident communicator who thrives in a challenging environment. As he or she will mostly be communicating with colleagues and partners worldwide, a high level of fluency in English, both written and oral is essential. The ideal candidate is able to easily turn his or her attention and skills between different projects.
